🍾 NYE Family Friendly Beverages🍾

Although New Years Eve might look a little different this year, there is always something to celebrate. And these family friendly mock-tail recipes are sure to please the whole family as you ring in the New Year!

We also have added some options to "spice up" these mock-tails to have some added fun as we cheers to a closing of 2020, and head into 2021 filled with hope, peace and optimism!

Blackberry Thyme Bubbly

This Blackberry Thyme Bubbly beverage is great for the whole family. I highly recommend cheering as the clock strikes midnight with these in hand. And, because they are low cal, they are a perfect substitute for those extra sugary champagne/bubbly alternatives you find in the grocery stores!

 For the Blackberry Syrup:

  • 1/3 cup Blackberries, plus 8 more for garnish
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 1/3 cup Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener

For the garnish:

  • 4 sprigs of Thyme

For the Mock-tail:

  • 1 can of Lime Sparkling Water, (or your favorite flavor but we recommend lime as it really compliments the blackberries well!)
  • 1 tbsp Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar

For the cocktail:

  • 1 bottle of Prosecco or any Champagne of your choosing

INSTRUCTIONS

In a small saucepan, bring the blackberries, water and sweetener to a boil. Turn to low and let simmer for 10 minutes. Strain blackberries and let syrup cool.

Add 2 tbsp. of syrup to the bottom of each glass.

Divide the sparkling water and apple cider vinegar equally into two champagne glasses. For the cocktail, use the champagne in this step :)

Top with a sprig of thyme and 2 blackberries!

These fun beverages are kiddo approved, just as TBG kid Izzy, our taste tester for these! I'd love for you to share this recipe with your kids, and ring in the New Year together (whether that's at 12 Midnight...or 7 PM before they're off to bed!!)

The Golden Mule

Our Golden Mule is a twist on my signature Fat Burning Elixir. It has my absolute favorite brand of apple cider vinegar, Bragg's! If you like whiskey sours, or moscow mules, this healthier version will definitely make you happy this holiday season! You can also easily omit the spirits in this cocktail to make an easy mock-tail that is fun for all ages!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Water or Soda water
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 2 tsp Ginger
  • Dash Black pepper
  • Garnish with Grapefruit or Orange slice

For the Cocktail:

  • 2 oz Bourbon

Directions:

Mix together all ingredients, stir to combine and pour over ice. Garnish with citrus slice.

I remember my parents ringing in the New Year with their festive drinks, and getting some sort of juice or pop as their version of drink to "cheers" to the New Year. With these options, you can be sure your kiddos will feel like part of the celebration, while keeping them safe and healthy this New Year!

 * Special thanks to my TBG clients Britta and Megan for testing these cocktail versions for me since I am a mock-tail only gal right now!!

These are so fun and easy to make. Such a great alternative to the sparkling juices we usually give the kids on NYE!! Thanks for sharing!
