How do you take care of your body when it needs to rest? 💫
Our Fit for the Holidays Challenge is coming to a close and our members have been pushing themselves to complete our festive workouts. As we grow and strengthen our mind and our bodies, it can take a toll on our muscles! 💪 🛁 😴
Here are a few ways I like to assist my body as it recovers!
- Take an epsom salt bath.
- Stretch or Do Yoga
- Plan (and execute) my Evening Routine
All of these techniques are great ways to slow your body down and let it recover in between workout days.
1. Epsom Salt Baths
One of my favorite ways to recover during a busy season is to make time for an epsom salt bath. While some experts suggest that stress relief comes just from the act of taking a warm bath itself, others believe Epsom salt helps stabilize mood and relieve stress, anxiety and depression.
The magnesium in epsom salts can also help relieve muscle tension and headaches. It can also help reduce inflammation in the body. So when you're feeling tight, stiff and sore, try an epsom salt bath for some relief. Just make sure you don't over soak - 10 to 15 minutes is plenty of time!
Also, highly recommend hydrating during and after an epsom salt bath. Ensure you keep a water bottle close by and make sure you get at least 16 oz of water to help move and flush toxins from your body!
